Built for match nights
A match night runs longer than a normal night out. Kickoff, extra time, the walk back from BC Place, a fan-zone stop, dinner with friends you only see in Vancouver. Our sitters work the late blocks so you stay through the celebration without watching the clock.
Book multiple matches or dates in advance and the same sitter returns for every booking. Your child sees a familiar face every time. You skip the introduction. Your sitter already knows your hotel and your bedtime routine.
We stay past midnight every match night.

For players families and federation guests
Discreet hotel-based childcare for players' families, federation hosts, team operations staff, and accredited media. Sitters sign NDAs on request and are briefed on hotel security and access protocols before the first shift. Sitters carry a minimum of three years of professional childcare experience and treat discretion as part of the role.
Coordinators can book for multiple families under a single account. We invoice the booking party directly and route confirmations to both the parent and the coordinator.
For hotels and concierges
Hotels expecting recurring guest demand throughout the tournament can set up a Sunhouse partner account. Your guest services team books on behalf of the family, we invoice the hotel directly, and the family sees a single point of contact for everything from match-night bookings to overnight stays. Reach out at hello@sunhousebabysitting.ca to set up a partner account before group stage.

Frequently asked questions
Can a Sunhouse sitter come to my hotel during the World Cup matches at BC Place?
Yes. Hotel babysitting is the most-requested service from visiting families. Sitters meet you in-room, in the lobby, or at a hotel kids club at the time you choose. The booking fee is $55 +GST. Families pay the sitter $28/hour directly, or $35/hour after 1am. Overnight care is $650/night. Bookings are common at hotels in Coal Harbour, Yaletown, the West End, near BC Place, and around Canada Place.
How early should I book a sitter for a match night?
For confirmed match dates we recommend booking 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Match-night demand stacks against itself because the same families want the same evening windows. Same-day requests are still fillable but the roster narrows quickly inside 24 hours of kickoff. Booking multiple matches or dates early also gives us the best chance of assigning the same sitter each time.
Do you offer Babysitters who speak languages other than English?
Multilingual sitters are available on request. Let us know your language requirement when you book and we will match against the available roster for your dates. We confirm language coverage at the time of booking rather than promising specific languages in advance, so the match reflects who is genuinely available.
Can a sitter cover from kickoff through extra time and into the celebration?
Yes. Match-night bookings often run longer than the original window. Evening matches at BC Place fall into long blocks and bookings frequently extend after final whistle. We staff sitters who specifically work late blocks so you can stay for extra time, post-match dinner, or a fan-zone celebration without scrambling on the way back to the hotel.
Do you work with players families and visiting team families?
Yes. Sunhouse provides discreet hotel-based childcare for visiting players families, team staff, federation guests, and accredited media families. Sitters working with players families sign NDAs when requested and are briefed on hotel security and access protocols before the first shift.
Will the sitter sign an NDA?
Yes. Sitters working with players families, federation guests, or visiting talent regularly sign non-disclosure agreements provided by the family, federation, or representation. We forward the NDA to the assigned sitter before the first shift and confirm signature back to the booking party.
Are sitters CPR-certified and screened?
Yes. Every Sunhouse sitter is interviewed in person, reference-checked, third-party criminal record screened, reviewed against vulnerable sector check requirements, and holds current CPR certification. Every sitter carries at least three years of professional childcare experience before they take a booking under the Sunhouse name.
Can a hotel concierge or team coordinator book on behalf of a family?
Yes. Concierges, federation hosts, team operations staff, and travel coordinators can book on behalf of guests. We invoice the booking party directly and route confirmations to both the parent and the coordinator. Hotels and federations expecting recurring demand can set up a single account that covers multiple families.
How do you handle late kickoffs and overnight care after a match?
Sitter pay is $35/hour after 1am. Overnight care is $650/night. For families staying out post-match, late dinner, fan zones, or hospitality, the overnight rate applies once the booking crosses into the late-night window. Sitters trained for overnight blocks handle the bedtime routine and stay through the morning if needed.
Can I book the same sitter for multiple match nights?
Yes, and we recommend it. Continuity matters with kids, especially in an unfamiliar city. When you confirm match dates we hold the same sitter across the tournament whenever the schedule allows, so your child sees a familiar face every booking instead of a new caregiver each match.
Do you serve hotels outside downtown Vancouver?
Yes. Sitters travel to hotels and rentals across Greater Vancouver including Richmond and the YVR-area hotels, North Vancouver, Burnaby, and the Tri-Cities. For families staying in Whistler before or after their Vancouver matches, Sea-to-Sky travel is available; travel time is billed at the hourly rate.
