Sunhouse Babysitting Agency helps couples and wedding planners arrange childcare the way you would want it handled. Screened Vancouver babysitters, clear communication, a real point of contact on the day, and care that flexes with the timeline.

How our sitters show up

Screened, briefed, and dressed for the room.

  • Screened in person, reference-checked, and CPR-certified before they ever set foot in a wedding suite.
  • Briefed on your timeline, venue access, child routines, and emergency contacts before the day.
  • Dressed appropriately for the setting and quiet around guests, vendors, and the wedding party.
  • Backed by Nicole and April directly, so a real person is reachable if anything changes during the event.

Ceremonies, receptions, speeches, adult-only dinners, guest families, and children who need a quieter space.

Where

Wedding venues, hotels, Airbnbs, family homes, getting-ready suites, and nearby rental spaces.

Common requests

Common wedding childcare requests.

Adult-only receptions

A sitter can care for children nearby while parents attend dinner, speeches, dancing, or a formal reception.

Children in hotel rooms

Visiting families can book care in a hotel room or suite when children need dinner, pajamas, and bedtime.

Guest families visiting Vancouver

Out-of-town guests can book care without needing a local family member to miss the wedding.

Several children during the event

Share child ages, routines, ratios, and room setup so Sunhouse can confirm whether one sitter is enough.

Wedding party childcare

Care can support flower girls, ring bearers, nieces, nephews, or children of the couple between photos and dinner.

Backup care when plans change

If a relative can no longer watch the children, send the timing and location as early as possible.

Destination weddings & travel

Destination weddings and travel childcare.

For weddings outside central Vancouver (Whistler, Victoria, the Sunshine Coast, the Fraser Valley, Tsawwassen), we plan further ahead. Travel time, accommodation for the sitter team, and sitter availability all factor into what is feasible.

For couples bringing the wedding to Vancouver from out of town, we coordinate hotel-room care, suite handoffs, and shared coverage for guest families travelling for the weekend. Send the dates, the venue, and the rough guest-family child counts and we will tell you what is workable.

How concierge planning works

A six-step process from first call to wedding day.

  1. 01

    Introduction call

A short call with our wedding lead to talk through the venue, the timeline, and which children need care.

  2. 02

    Family and child briefing

We collect ages, routines, allergies, comfort items, photo and privacy preferences, and any medical notes.

  3. 03

    Sitter matching

We match sitters from our screened roster to the children, the setting, and the time of day.

  4. 04

    Pre-wedding handoff

Sitters receive a written brief covering arrival, timing, contacts, and the rough shape of the day.

  5. 05

    On-the-day support

Nicole or April stay reachable. Sitters check in at arrival, and any changes are handled through one point of contact.

  6. 06

    Post-event close-out

A short follow-up to confirm hours, billing details, and any notes for families planning a repeat booking.

Before the wedding

What to share before the wedding.

Wedding care works best when the sitter has the timeline and access plan before arriving. Add these notes to the booking so the handoff is calm and the sitter knows who is responsible during the event.

  • Wedding date, start time, expected end time, and whether the evening may run late.
  • Venue, hotel, room number, parking, building access, and who will meet the sitter.
  • Child ages, bedtime routine, food rules, allergies, medical notes, and comfort items.
  • Whether the sitter can leave the room, use a lobby, take a walk, or visit a nearby outdoor space.
  • Who is the sober emergency contact if parents are in the ceremony, at dinner, or on the dance floor.
  • Any photo, privacy, family, or guest-list boundaries the sitter should know.

Rates and packages

Wedding babysitting rates.

Hourly rates are paid directly to the sitter. The wedding agency coordination fee covers matching the right sitter(s) to the family and event, coordinating venue access and timing, and providing a Sunhouse point of contact through the planning and event window. $500 is the starting point — coordination fees scale with event size and complexity. For multi-sitter weddings or planner accounts, we put together a single package quote.

On-site wedding babysitting Starts at $30/hr
Wedding agency coordination fee Starts at $500
Add-ons Pricing on quote

The wedding agency coordination fee replaces (not adds to) the standard $35 +GST per-booking agency fee. For weddings, book the full window you actually need. Speeches, photos, rideshares, venue exits, and late dinners often take longer than expected.

Additional offerings

Available add-ons — pricing on quote.

Wedding bookings can include optional add-ons on top of the base coverage. Mix and match based on the event, the guest families, and the children involved.

On-site activity planning

Age-appropriate games, crafts, and quiet-time activities.

Sleeping arrangement coordination

Setup, supervision, and overnight handling for younger children at extended events.

Food coordination

Meal and snack planning, sourcing, and serving for children at the event.

Supplies

Toys, craft materials, comfort items, and age-appropriate gear delivered to the venue.

Transportation coordination

Arranging safe transit for children between venue, hotel, or other event locations.

Outside / off-site activity planning

Excursions or chaperoned outings during the event — parks, kid-friendly destinations near the venue.

Every wedding is different. Tell us what your day looks like and we will build a custom add-on quote.

For wedding planners

Add concierge childcare to your client offering.

Wedding babysitter FAQs

Wedding babysitter FAQs.

Can I book a Babysitter for a wedding in Vancouver?

Yes. Sunhouse Babysitting Agency helps couples and wedding planners request screened sitters for Vancouver weddings, receptions, hotel rooms, guest families, and adult-only wedding events when a sitter is available.

How far in advance should I book wedding childcare?

Book as early as possible, especially for summer Saturdays, long weekends, destination weddings, and venues outside central Vancouver. Earlier requests give us more time to match sitters to the timeline and location.

Can one sitter care for several children at a wedding?

Sometimes. It depends on the number of children, their ages, the room setup, bedtime needs, and whether children can safely stay together. Share the full child list before booking so we can recommend the right ratio.

Can a wedding Babysitter work at a hotel or venue?

Yes. Care can happen in a hotel room, getting-ready suite, venue room, family home, or Airbnb when access, safety, and parent contact details are confirmed before the sitter arrives.

Do you cover destination weddings or travel childcare?

We support destination weddings within Greater Vancouver and the surrounding region (Whistler, Victoria, Tsawwassen, the Fraser Valley) on a case-by-case basis. Reach out with the dates and location and we will tell you what is feasible.

Can the sitter dress for a formal wedding setting?

Yes. Sitters dress for the setting and stay quiet around guests, vendors, and the wedding party. If there is a dress code or guest-facing expectation, mention it in the booking notes.

What if our wedding runs late?

Build buffer into the booking. Weddings often run long, and we recommend extending the end time so the sitter is covered when speeches, photos, or transit run late. Last-minute extensions are subject to sitter availability.

How does the sitter handle bedtime at a wedding?

Share your usual bedtime routine, comfort items, and food preferences in the booking. The sitter follows your routine in the hotel room, suite, or quiet venue space. We do not improvise routines for sleep-time care.

Can you handle multiple guest families at one wedding?

Yes. We can coordinate care for multiple guest families at the same venue or hotel. Tell us the families, the child counts, and the rooms, and we will line up sitters and confirm the right ratios.

Do you work directly with wedding planners?

Yes. Planners can coordinate childcare on behalf of their clients with a single point of contact, centralized billing, and a screened sitter team. Book a call with our wedding lead to talk through how it would work for your wedding.

What does wedding babysitting cost?

On-site wedding babysitting starts at $30/hour. Wedding events run at a premium rate compared to standard babysitting ($22/hour) because they involve evening and late-night hours, multi-sitter coordination, and venue-based logistics. The wedding agency coordination fee starts at $500 and scales with event size and complexity. This coordination fee replaces the standard $35 +GST per-booking agency fee. Optional add-ons (activity planning, supplies, food coordination, transportation, off-site activities, sleeping arrangement coordination) are quoted based on the event.

Is the sitter team insured and screened?

Every sitter on our screened roster is interviewed in person, reference-checked, criminal-record screened, and CPR-certified. Vulnerable sector checks are completed where required. Sunhouse Babysitting Agency carries commercial liability coverage.

What information do you need before the wedding?

The wedding date, start and end times, venue and hotel details, parking and access notes, who will meet the sitter, child ages, routines, allergies, the sober emergency contact, and any photo or privacy boundaries the sitter should know.
