Destination weddings & travel
For weddings outside central Vancouver (Whistler, Victoria, the Sunshine Coast, the Fraser Valley, Tsawwassen), we plan further ahead. Travel time, accommodation for the sitter team, and sitter availability all factor into what is feasible.
For couples bringing the wedding to Vancouver from out of town, we coordinate hotel-room care, suite handoffs, and shared coverage for guest families travelling for the weekend. Send the dates, the venue, and the rough guest-family child counts and we will tell you what is workable.
How concierge planning works
A short call with our wedding lead to talk through the venue, the timeline, and which children need care.
We collect ages, routines, allergies, comfort items, photo and privacy preferences, and any medical notes.
We match sitters from our screened roster to the children, the setting, and the time of day.
Sitters receive a written brief covering arrival, timing, contacts, and the rough shape of the day.
Nicole or April stay reachable. Sitters check in at arrival, and any changes are handled through one point of contact.
A short follow-up to confirm hours, billing details, and any notes for families planning a repeat booking.
Before the wedding
Wedding care works best when the sitter has the timeline and access plan before arriving. Add these notes to the booking so the handoff is calm and the sitter knows who is responsible during the event.
Rates and packages
Hourly rates are paid directly to the sitter. The wedding agency coordination fee covers matching the right sitter(s) to the family and event, coordinating venue access and timing, and providing a Sunhouse point of contact through the planning and event window. $500 is the starting point — coordination fees scale with event size and complexity. For multi-sitter weddings or planner accounts, we put together a single package quote.

The wedding agency coordination fee replaces (not adds to) the standard $35 +GST per-booking agency fee. For weddings, book the full window you actually need. Speeches, photos, rideshares, venue exits, and late dinners often take longer than expected.
Additional offerings

Yes. Sitters dress for the setting and stay quiet around guests, vendors, and the wedding party. If there is a dress code or guest-facing expectation, mention it in the booking notes.
Build buffer into the booking. Weddings often run long, and we recommend extending the end time so the sitter is covered when speeches, photos, or transit run late. Last-minute extensions are subject to sitter availability.
Share your usual bedtime routine, comfort items, and food preferences in the booking. The sitter follows your routine in the hotel room, suite, or quiet venue space. We do not improvise routines for sleep-time care.

On-site wedding babysitting starts at $30/hour. Wedding events run at a premium rate compared to standard babysitting ($22/hour) because they involve evening and late-night hours, multi-sitter coordination, and venue-based logistics. The wedding agency coordination fee starts at $500 and scales with event size and complexity. This coordination fee replaces the standard $35 +GST per-booking agency fee. Optional add-ons (activity planning, supplies, food coordination, transportation, off-site activities, sleeping arrangement coordination) are quoted based on the event.
Every sitter on our screened roster is interviewed in person, reference-checked, criminal-record screened, and CPR-certified. Vulnerable sector checks are completed where required. Sunhouse Babysitting Agency carries commercial liability coverage.
The wedding date, start and end times, venue and hotel details, parking and access notes, who will meet the sitter, child ages, routines, allergies, the sober emergency contact, and any photo or privacy boundaries the sitter should know.
